IMSANZ 2017

Call for Abstracts is now closed!

You will be notified of the status of your presentation by Wednesday 14 December 2016.

General Information

Physicians and Trainees who are members of IMSANZ and other attendees, are invited to submit abstracts to be considered for presentation at the IMSANZ NZ Annual Scientific Meeting 2016.

All abstracts should be original research. Broadly, this could also include an audit, a case report, or a description of a new innovation in health services delivery or education; however, the onus is on the author to demonstrate the significance of any work offered for this conference.

Abstract Format

The general specifications are:

  • The maximum length of the abstract, including references, is 300 words.
  • Abbreviations may be used but must be spelt out in full at the first mention followed by the abbreviation in parentheses

Title:

The abstract title should be in initial capital/lower case, not all capitals.

Authors:

Authors’ names should be supplied in the surname-last format and should be in initial capital/lower case, not all capitals. Institutional affiliations should be indicated with superscript numbers following the author name.

Affiliation:

Abstract Text:

Write the abstract in paragraph format. If appropriate, the abstract should be in the form of bolded structured headings (with blank line spaces between each section) as follows: Aims, Methods, Results, Conclusions. Sub headings may be used but should not be given separate paragraphs.

References:

References may be included either “inline” in the abstract text or in a list following the abstract. The style of the references should follow the style of the Journal e.g. numbered or author/date style. All references included in a reference list must be cited within the abstract text.

Tables:

Tables may be included with abstracts and must be cited in the abstract text. The abstracts themselves must be in text, not table format.
